(So a few people asked me to coach them this year.
I've been self coached from the start and live for geeking out on the data and trying and testing all things wonderful, weird or wacky to 'make the boat go faster'.
I don’t often talk about it, because rarely do people really want to talk about metabolic flexibility; exogenous and indigenous ketone esters, glycogen resynthesis, calorie restriction, water fasting, nutrient bioavailability, circardian rhythms, AMPK and mTOR signaling cascades, heat shock proteins, that pedalling in ‘circles’ isn’t really the most efficient way, chronic nitrate supplementation’s effect on epogenesis, gut flora, probiotics, bifidobacterium and disymbiosis, about when maltodextrin is better than glucose, fructose or galactose. Not exactly hot small talk topics.
Indeed most people just want to chat about the weather, work, family or general craic. At very most if performance is mentioned it’s their new ceramic BB saving them 0.8W or how they’ve got a fixie for the Winter coz the hometown hero and RAS winner 1970 had one.... I'll say nothin'
So if you’re hatin’/thinking what does he know… maybe try asking for a few tips or tricks on your own performance before you judge. Or chat to me about the time I came 1st in the country in the A-level Biology paper in the same month as I won a National Championship title and did 95h training. I live this stuff every day and have tried/tested, failed/learned, won & lost more things than you’ve ever thought of...
The guys who I've been working with have had some genuinely great results(A4-A3 within weeks as a newcomer to the sport, road race and crit victories, MTB race wins, top 10 CX results after years away from the sport) and most of all they're having fun on their bike week to week & are more motivated than ever. Nobody has thought it wasn't worth it or left me yet!)

2) Kale Smoothies, Coconut Water & CTL's - for the pro or aspiring pro, looking for every last ounce of performance, leaving no stone unturned. £85/month
The prices vary depending on how much interaction you need/want and the detail of your plan. Each plan at every level is completely individual, custom to you and your life right now, working around your specific schedule, motivation and goals. A level 1 plan can be just as detailed and interactive as a level 2 plan if that's your wish and budget, so don't be afraid to ask.
If you're interested but think you genuinely can't afford it, chat to me. I've been there. To an extent, prices can be suited to your situation, whether you're a university student or younger looking for a discount, or a young child is eating all your finances and you need to make more spaced out payments. My aim is to get the best out of you in the most enjoyable way, so if you're undecided or have any questions whatsoever, send a message now and we can sort something out. Email: davemont@outlook.com
